So our blog has been quiet lately, between life and create our Summer Collection(details coming soon) we haven’t had much time. But we’re back with 2 brands that we really have a lot of respect and admiration for and have covered a few times in our blog have came together to create some great pieces. Our favorite piece is that reverse San Francisco that Mighty Healthy has become known for with their reverse New York pieces.
And of course Benny Gold always brings strong bold and great color schemed graphics to the table in his collaborations and own brand. We’re big fans of this.
The Dogs Bollix
This week we’re covering our good friends at Swallows & Daggers who are dropping Drop 1 of their collection online here tomorrow. We’re huge fans of these guys who are from Ireland too honestly their our favorite Irish brand. Always delivering a message with their designs and selling great quality t-shirts & crewnecks. Will be grabbing these tomorrow.

Brook Bobbins is one of favorite photographers,why? heres why. His site is probably our favorite site to checkout when it comes to who/whats happening in NYC. We’re big fans of the video and are definitely happy to see him in front of the camera. We’ve covered a collab he did awhile back with MMVII.

This weeks The Dogs Bollix features one of our favorite brand from NYC, Acapulco Gold. We’ve featured them before with their previous collections so it only felt right to cover their Spring. Which has quickly became one of our favorite Spring collections,we’re especially feeling the shoot taking place in Brooklyn. All the pieces are available here.
Bodega Spring/Summer Lookbook
We’ve been big fans of Bodega for a long time(specifically for their kicks). We even picked up a pair of their Bodega x Saucony kicks in London. Now they’ve jumped over to creating their own clothing. And with an exclusive interview with Complex they breakdown the collection.
Bodega’s William Yu has this to say about the line:
“Looking at the SS12 collection, it is apparent that despite the current trend of clothes becoming increasingly slimmer, Bodega has chosen to take an alternative route. While not ridiculously baggy, the line gives a nod to ‘90s-era stylings, featuring several items that have a much looser fit than today’s ‘I-wear-my-sister’s-jeans’ swag.
When asked to describe the line, Leo Pagkaliwangan, the store’s head buyer and store manager, says, “Baggy everything. If you see pictures of [‘90s era bands and artists] it’s just really baggy hoodies, camo shorts, runners. It’s just a certain aesthetic that’s very unique from everything else that’s come out recently.”
For shop co-owner Jay Gordon, it is as important to stay relevant to the current status of the industry as it is being ahead of it. “The way our line has been in the past – we’ve been about a year ahead of where everyone else is, which is really frustrating because it sells horribly at first. And then a year later it just blows out. But once we realized that was happening, we realized it’s not a bad place to be: ahead of the curve,” he said.
